The City of Kannapolis is a Mayor-Council form of municipal government. The Mayor and Council members serve four-year elected terms. The City Council hires the City Manager, who is the main administrator responsible for daily city operations, oversight of all departments and strategic planning. The City Council meets the 2nd & 4th Mondays at 6 pm at the Public Works Operations Center, 1401 Bethpage Rd. The first meeting of each month is usually a workshop where Council hears presentations on city services, projects and upcoming initiatives. Time is not usually scheduled for citizens to speak. Time is allotted during the meetings on the fourth Monday of each month for citizens to address City Council. Citizens interested in speaking at a City Council meeting register at the meeting with the City Clerk.
